Art Déco was the successor to and reaction against Art Nouveau. After the Exposition international des Arts Décoratif held in Paris, which it is named, the style rechead its popularity in the 20's, 30's and 40's. Exotic woods, geometric motifs and high gloss finishes represent its herdays of exuberance and luxury.
