ARCALIS RESTAURANT
STRECHING THE REFUGE CONCEPT
The project allow us to create spaces that become more intimate and welcoming the deeper you go, creating a subtle transition between the exterior and interior.
Starting from the entrance where the reception is welcoming the visitors, a grate on the floor clean the boot of snow. The resistance of the material was a crucial point of the renovation.
When visitors arrive in the cafeteria, the atmosphere is designed to be welcoming. Comfortable sofas on one side and an informal bar on the other to provide hot drinks and snacks.
Wood is the major material, is displayed on the floor, walls and ceiling as fake beams creating a cocoon. Beams and illumination effects help to give the space a friendly scale.
Spirit of craftsmanship is expressed by raw textures of materials such as columns in microcement, black steel, wood.
Wood flooring and carpeting fiber polyamide provide durability and slip resistance.
MAXIMIZE THE SPACE
The 435 m2 restaurant can seat 176 customers. Large aisles allow easy access to the bar and bathrooms.
A new bathroom fully handicap accessible was created.
PIXELS
Pixels: with only 2 colors of acrylic paint and 4 colors of varnish, 750 squared pieces of wood were painted for one wall and 1200 for the bar, each one with a different color.
Made of wood, they are perfectly incorporate to the Chalet spirit while giving a modern style.
A CONVIVIAL ATMOSPHERE
The restaurant area is a place where friends and families can gather around large communal tables and share typical food.
The bar of the restaurant was treated as the principal focal point of the whole space which was harmonized with the use of pixels.
